How good is my grace tattoo?! (click here to get yours)
Somewhere between my fear of failure and my insatiable need to experience and enjoy this life and business that I have created… I began to understand grace.
Grace hasn’t always been a go-to concept for me.
As some of you know, I was in a cult for many years. And in that world, leaning on God’s grace was a terrible, terrible thing to do. It meant you had “sinned” or royally messed up to the point of possibly not being able to ever be redeemed.
I used to live as though perfection were desirable/obtainable and that at every moment I could screw up badly enough to be abandoned by the Divine.
Like, really… Fuck that.
There is nothing that you could ever do to not be fully loved by the angelic forces (ie: God/Universe/etc) that are here to support you.
You aren’t here to be perfect. You are here to YOU!
And as I become more of who I truly am — who I was always made to be — and as I pursue life, love and business with a little more reckless abandon… I find that there is always enough grace available for me.
Grace is the thing that makes everything not quite so fragile. Grace is the reason you don’t have to be preoccupied with getting everything just right all the time. Grace is the substance that fills in that gaps as you put your heart and soul into your work.
This doesn’t mean that there is no consequences. It doesn’t mean to abandon your sense of right and wrong. It actually means the opposite: It means to trust fully in your sense of what’s feels right for you and your business while ignoring all should’s, supposed-to, and ridiculous rules that you’ve picked up along the way. Asking yourself regularly, “Who says that that’s the way things have to be?!”
Call the guy. Sell the course. Share the coaching package. And trust yourself.
There will be room to change your mind, take it back, or do it differently next time.
Grace is filling in the gaps.
Listen to me: You are okay. You don’t have to be so hard on yourself. You don’t have to worry so much. You don’t have to be so afraid of messing up. Your humanness is a good thing.
The Bible said it like this: Love’s grace is sufficient for me. Love’s grace is made perfect in my weakness.
Look at your life, fear, and imperfection each day and decide that you are good enough anyway. Because you are.
Know this: You are beyond supported. You are good enough. There is enough grace for you. Keep going. Dive in. Know you’re being guided.
And know that as you do your part, unseen forces are gladly doing the rest.
Say it with me: Grace is available for me. I release my fears of messing up and not being good enough. I trust my path. I learn my lessons. I know I am being guided.
