Without a doubt, a girl’s hair is
her first noticed accessory.
I, personally, have kinky, wavy, hot-mess type hair and wake up looking far from anything resembling bouncy and stylish. The shampoo-condition-product-style process only happens like once a week.
For the days that I don’t get a blow-out, I rely on this method to go from feeling hot mess in a bad way to hot mess in a good way (you know what I mean) in under a minute.
Here is what you’ll need:
a hair brush, bobby pins, scissors, and one sock
{Dry shampoo is optional – Pssst! is my fav brand}
Step One:
Cut the toe off the sock.
Roll the sock into a doughnut with a hole in the middle.
For you brunettes, I suggest “borrowing” your boyfriend/husbands/gay best friend’s brown or black sock. Some shades of brown even work for red-heads. I did happen to find a yellow sock by Burt’s Bees, but tan one will work great for blonde girls. It doesn’t have to be perfect- just close enough to blend with your color.
Step Two:
Brush your hair into a pony tail and secure with an elastic
then put your hair through the sock.
Step Three:
Spread hair around the sock.
(If you want hair to look extra messy you can tease some of the strands.
Add dry-shampoo for texture and to discourage layers from slipping out.)
and begin to wrap hair around sock…
And secure with bobby pins.
