Quotes:
Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. – Joseph Campbell
Follow your heart and don’t let anybody crush your dream. – Patti LaBelle
We must let go of the life we have planned, so as toaccept the one that is waiting for us. – Joseph Campbell
Today expect something good to happen to you no matter what occurred yesterday. Realize the past no longer holds you captive. It can only continue to hurt you if you hold on to it. Let the past go. A simply abundant world awaits. – Sarah Ban Breathnach
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle. – Steve Jobs
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. – Marianne Williamson
Affirmations:
I follow my bliss and allow the path of my highest good to unravel before me.
I am willing to see things differently. When something is not working, I trust that there is a better way.
I am enough. I am effing awesome. I am a rockstar.
I follow my heart and allow an amazing life to emerge.
Wisdom Drop: (blog + vlog)
So, as you can imagine, when I quit my PhD program, I was freaking out. I was super nervous about what people might think – especially my professors. To my (very pleasant) surprise, when I sat down with one of the faculty members from my program, her advice shocked me.
I was explaining to her the details of me being a life-coach online and in Dallas, working mostly with girls amidst their quarter-life crisis. And she said, “I have never seen you so congruent.”
Meaning the expression on my face, the tone in my voice, and the passion in my heart were all lined up. When I talked about coaching, I came alive.
My passion was visible.
And then she said, “You know Amanda. I never intended to get any of my degrees. I just took classes I liked. I took classes I liked that I was interest in until it was time to write my dissertation.”
WHAT THE EFF?! The thing that I dreaded most in life, that made me feel so boxed in and stifled and drained, that made want to punch myself in the face, was the same thing someone else did by following what they loved?
Something that I thought I just had to “get through” as quickly as possible to put a Dr. in front of my name was the same thing someone else did because they were simply uber interested in it.
And, of course, this woman has been wildly successful in her career. She is the leading expert in what she does. And what she does is pretty effing cool. She followed her bliss and allowed an incredible life to emerge.
For her the PhD process felt expansive and interesting and natural. For me it felt restrictive and forced and like a time-suck.
It wasn’t my bliss, but it definitely was hers.
THEN she went ahead and knocked my socks off by saying, “It looks there is a theme for you of feeling like you need external credentials. But it seems you already know how to do this coaching without any credentials. It sounds like YOU are the credential you need. It has been you all along.”
And then I cried.
That convo inspired me to make this video for you. To remind you that you are enough. To tell you that what you love to do is what you were made to do – it’s your gift to the world. You being excited, happy, and full of energy because you are living a life you love makes the world a better place.
As you follow your path and live in your bliss, your energy will motivate and inspire others to do the same.
You following your heart will change the effing world.

Don’t be mistaken: Following your bliss takes courage. And work. It takes the willingness to rewrite your limiting beliefs, change your self-talk, and continually increase in your belief in yourself, God, and the world.
It’s not easy.
But you are worth it.
You, on the inside, at your core, are good enough. You are effing awesome.
You deserve to be ridiculously happy.
Be brave enough to notice what fills you up inside, and follow it.
If you don’t know yet, that’s okay. Continue to develop awareness around what it is you love. Notice when passion does show up in your life; in your relationships, hobbies, friendships, etc. Notice where your “Omg. I wish I could do more of that. I wish I could do that ever day” lies.
Notice when you feel the most YOU, when you feel the most vibrant, when you feel the most alive.
Notice when you feel the way you wish you could feel all the time. And follow that. Add more of that feeling to your life.
Choose happiness.
You don’t have to wait for permission, the right time, or trumpets from Heavens.
Follow your heart, now.
Your purpose is what you say it is. Your passion is what you love to do. What else could it be?
Take a chance on yourself.
I love you,
Amanda Frances
