The Holy F*ck Book Tour was one of the most meaningful, beautiful experiences of my life.

My team and I hosted four events over six days in three cities.

From those stages, I had some of my favorite conversations… of my life.

And to be honest: One night stands out as extra special: New York City.

There was something about that room.

It felt warm, open, curious, intelligent and alive.

Like everyone in the room had silently agreed: We can talk about the real shit here.

What we were taught. What we are still unlearning.

Womanhood. Sexual Shame. Societal programming. Personal freedom and power.

There was laughter. There were tears. There were stories I had never told before.

The entire night took on its own kind of magic.

It felt intimate in a way you cannot manufacture.

And I am so happy we captured it.

My interviewer that night was my client, Dr. Kimberly Pendleton.

I have been Kim’s mentor since her now-two-year-old daughter was six weeks old.

We know one another… well.

And she also happens to be one of the most uniquely qualified people I could imagine sitting across from me for this conversation.

Kim has a Bachelor’s in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Georgetown University, a Master’s in Religion from Yale Divinity School, a PhD in American Studies from George Washington University, and previously taught Women’s Studies at Johns Hopkins University.

She has also taken every single Amanda Frances course.

Meaning she also has a PhD in… me.

Kim deeply understands the subject matter of this book — and the ways societal conditioning affects women in their day-to-day lives, businesses, and relationships.

She knows how to ask me the question underneath the question.

And because we know each other so well, we could really go there.

We riffed. We told stories. We laughed — a lot.

We talked about faith and deprogramming. Desire and shame. Money and power. God and freedom.

About what women have been taught to distrust about… themselves.

And what becomes possible when ditch religious conditioning and begin trusting… the divinity inside of you.

Then we opened the conversation to the room. And the audience Q&A turned the night into something even bigger.

Suddenly, it was not just an interview. It became a conversation between all of us.
